The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is located in Kanab, Utah. This web site is packed with great information on a variety of topics.
Black Beauty Ranch is affiliated with The Fund for Animals and is located in Texas.
Pasado’s Safe Haven is a sanctuary in Sultan, Washington for abandoned and abused animals, including farm animals. They run a mobile spay/neuter clinic which brings free and low-cost spaying and neutering to low-income neighborhoods.
The Progressive Animal Welfare Society is an organization in the Seattle area that runs a shelter for companion animals, an extensive foster home and offsite adoption network, a wildlife hospital, and an animal welfare advocacy program.
