Cleo-Our "Special Kitty

We found Cleo in our driveway in late April 2005. She was only about 3 weeks old. Right from the start Cleo seemed different than most kittens. Her walk was very wobbly and her head bobbed when she tryed to eat or drink. We thought this might have something to do with her young age but also her eyes were not like most cat eyes. Her pupils are round most of the time.We had no intentions of keeping her and was taking care of her till we could find a home for her. We didn't even give her a "real name" . After a few weeks I noticed her ears looked like she had ear mites but knew I could not use anything untill she was 3 mos old. In July 2005 we still had her so I got Harts ear mite treatment to do her ears with since we had her for 3 mos so I knew she was old enough to treat. After the second dose she had a mold seizure( she ran around the room, tail puffed up and was Very off balance and after about 2 mins she was disorientated for awhile) she seemed fine til the next day when she had another seizure but this one was a full seizure- falling over, with limbs shaking, mouth biting, peeing on herself etc and lasted about 5 mins. I called the vet and took her in the very next morning. The vet thought it was poison from the ear mite med. and gave her a antidote to draw the poison out. She also had middle ear infection in both ears. The next day as the anidote "drew" the poison out she had seizure after seizure for about 12 hours straight. After that she was like a "normal" cat for 18 days.By this time my family had decided to keep her since no one seemed to want her and taking her to the pound was never a option as the local pound at that time was a "kill" shelter and with her having problems I knew she would be put to sleep. The vet had me bring her in for a rabie shot. Within 3 hours of giving her the shot she had a seizure. I called the vet and they had me bring her in to have blood work done to see what was happening. All blood work came back normal so the vet felt that between being left in the heat that day we found her and the poison that it was brain damage that was causeing her to have seizures. She was put on meds and after getting the dosage figured out she now does okay with a mild seizure every 4-6 mos. But for some reason she did not grow normal. She is the size of a 3-4 mos old kitten when we know she has to be atleast 3 yrs old now as we have had her for 3 yrs. She only weights 4 pounds. Testing for a liver shut has been done and ruled out. She also seems to have troubles in her hind quarters. When she walks she is hunched in her back legs and she is pigeon toed in her back feet. She does not do a lot of normal cat stuff like climbing or scratching etc. She has the alot of "autistic" traits and does not like things to change. She seems happy and does like to play with soft balls with bells in them. She is easily distracted and looses interest very fast. You can not "make" her do anything she does not want to do. I cannot afford the MRI or spinal tap and I really do see not since in putting Cleo thru al that when it won't change anything because everything medical has been ruled out as the cause of her problems. This past weekend Cleo had got were she was acting sick--she stopped eating, drinking and became listless but did responce when you talked to her. She had a slight fever but no sneezing etc. You could just see in her eyes that she didn't fill good. I force feed her liquids for 3 days and now she seems fine. She has times like this but this is the first time it went on for so long. I have learned more in the last week from the web about the different problems with cats. I had never heard of Cerebellar hypoplasia before and wonder if anyone knows if this can also cause some of the other problem that Cleo has. If anyone has any info or advice I would love hear from you
